Selena Gomez Met the Pope With David Henrie on Their Italian Vacation
Selena Gomez has spent the past week in Italy, hanging with her Wizards of Waverly Place big bro David Henrie, his wife Maria Cahill, and their friends in Rome, Capri, and Vatican City, where the gang met Pope Francis!
Gomez's friend Raquelle Stevens documented the event on Instagram, including their ride over. "It's a very special day," Stevens narrated, with Gomez cooing, "Pope!" alongside her:
Gomez is also tagged in the shot of them entering the Vatican, wearing a black dress:
Henrie shared his own image of himself with the Pope. "I learned one very important request in Italian for the Pope to pray for me and my wife," he wrote. "Such an amazing experience today and this trip."
Of course, visits with the Pope are not limited to just connected celebrities. Every Wednesday, a papal audience is held with Pope Francis and open to visitors and pilgrims.
The crew is back home in the U.S. now, Henrie revealed on his Instagram story early this morning. "So good to be home," he captioned it. "Thanks [film producer Andrea Iervolino] for the best trip ever with the best people ever!" Gomez, Stevens, Henrie, and his wife appear alongside Iervolino in the airplane shot, which is truly rich-people-vacation aspirational:
