This she said in a press briefing on the 64th
anniversary of Ghana at the Party’s Headquarters in Accra.
According to Nana Frimpomaa Sarpong Kumakuma, all social intervention
policies developed have yielded little or no results because 12% of our labor
force are unemployed and more than 50% are under-employed.
“Ever since the overthrow of Dr, Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah in
1966, there is no proper vision and plan developed to honor the zeal which our
ancestors drove out the colonist.”
“Also the societies that we called developed has always centralized
their development around the economic welfare of the youth”
Nana Frimpomaa disclosed that Ghana might be growing on
paper but the reality is otherwise with increasing youths in dropouts, ‘kayeyeis’,
truck pushing and street selling.
In her statement, she urged the ruling government to support
the youth of this country with repayable funds and this should be under
appropriate agencies to curtail the ‘family and friends’ only slogan
“We are pleading on behalf of Ghanaian youth that, the
government intervene with an emergency national youth fund of $2 billion to award GHC10, 000
to one million youth each to improve their economic situation”
In addition, Nana advocated for an independent secretariat to
be set up and should be governed by the opposition and special interest group to
oversee the appropriate disbursement of funds to those who need it the most.

GHANA 64TH ANNIVERSARY |
“As a dependent economy, we must focus on what is urgent and
we in the CPP believe that the ingenuity and brilliance of Ghanaian youth was and
is the major catalyst for the worldwide interest in Ghana and before the
tourist sites”.
We are asking that, next year by this time a minimum of one million
youth will be awarded GHC 10,000 each and this will be one of the greatest
economic stimulus program in Ghana’s history
The CPP believes that this fund will empower them massively
to participate in the economic reform and growth of our motherland Ghana
