President has right to sack any State CEO - Expert

The Managing Director of the Bulk Oil and Storage Transport (BOST), Alfred Obeng Boateng; CEO of Ghana Export Promotion Authority, Gifty Klenam; MD of the Ghana Ports and Harbour Authority (GHAPOHA), Paul Ansah have all been sacked by President Akufo-Addo last Wednesday.

A Governance Expert, Fred Agyarko Oduro says the President has the right to fire any head of a State Institution who performs abysmally.

His comments follow series of demonstrations and agitations by workers of the affected institutions.

Speaking on Behind the News, Mr. Agyarko Oduro said lack of understanding of the governance process has contributed to these agitations.

On reports that the CEO of the Ghana Export Promotion Council, Gifty Klenam is still at post, Mr Agyarko Oduro said she should have received an official communication of her dismissal.
