Health Drones Don’t Have Cameras: Information Minister
The Minister of Information, Mr. Kojo
Oppong Nkrumah has disparaged claims made by the minority that the health drones
will be used to take videos and pictures of ladies when bathing.
The Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi
speaking Accra based Neat FM said “the health drones are cargo drones used for transporting
items compatible with its capabilities and do not have cameras and therefore
cannot take pictures”
The National Women’s Organizer Hannah
Luoisa Bisiw during a party event in Asamankese said, the flying drones would be used
to take shots of women while bathing in rural communities since most bathrooms have
no ceiling
Mr. Oppong Nkrumah also highlighted the
credibility of the institution handling the project saying “they have a good
track record and there have not been any report on such incidence happening in countries
they are operating.”
These are professionals, he added.
Speaking on the reason to accept January 7
as a Public holiday which is before Parliament as Constitutional Day, the Minister
said “it is relevant to have such days as holiday to reflect on the importance
of the democratic form of governance we chose from the 4th Republic”
Public lecturers would be held and our
history will be retold for the upcoming generation to appreciate where we came
from as a country and the need to embrace ourselves for upholding democracy
from 1992 with no major anarchies.
