Euro Paper Talk: Man Utd snubbed in €75m bid for defensive target; Conte decision boosts Tottenham

Inter Milan have turned down a big-money bid from Man Utd for a defensive star, while Antonio Conte has delivered a big boost to Tottenham, according to Saturday’s European papers.

INTER TURN DOWN BID FOR MAJOR MAN UTD TARGET

Inter Milan have reportedly turned down a €75million offer from Manchester United for defensive star Milan Skriniar.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Jose Mourinho is determined to bring the 23-year-old to Old Trafford and told United chiefs to make the big-money offer to the Serie A giants.
Despite the reported fee being double the €35m the Nerazzurri paid to take the player from Sampdoria in the summer of 2017, Inter stood firm and rejected it.
The Slovakia international, who can also play as a defensive midfielder, is under contract at the San Siro until June 2022 – although Inter have already begun contract extension talks.

MAN UTD GIVEN FULL-BACK BOOST

Manchester United and PSG have reportedly been alerted as one full-back target is no closer to signing a new deal at Juventus.

The Times claimed over the summer that United had agreed personal terms with Alex Sandro, only to find an agreement with Juventus out of their reach, with the Serie A champions apparently after a €60m fee.
The Bianconeri are sticking to their guns and are still hoping to tie the left-back down to a new contract, with the player’s existing deal set to expire in 2020, if his price is not met.
According to an exclusive from Calciomercato.com, the former Porto man is currently on a €3million-a-year deal and Juve chief Paratici is ready to offer him a new €4m-a-year deal.
However, Sandro has “not given his green light to extend his stay in Turin”, which has also caught the attention of Manchester City.
The report goes on to state that Juve “wants to reach an agreement by the end of the season” or he may be sold in the summer, and adds that Sandro is viewed as “important but not vital”.

SPURS JOIN HUNT FOR €60M ROMA STAR

Premier League duo Manchester United and Spurs are both in the hunt to sign a Serie A star, according to reports.
Turkish outlet Aksam claims that Tottenham have upped their efforts to sign AS Roma talent Cengiz Under by lining up a £52million bid.

Meanwhile, the report also states that Man Utd and Barcelona are monitoring the situation and does not rule out the possibility of a bid for the player labelled the ‘next Dybala’.
The papers in Italy claimed that Arsenal are also interested in Under, and it was suggested that the Gunners had seen a £26m offer snubbed.
Under’s former president at Altinordu – Mehmet Ozkan – also revealed interest from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
“Bayern Munich are following him [Under] very closely, and he could leave for an important transfer fee,” Ozkan told Turkish outlet takvim.com.tr.
Meanwhile, Friday’s edition of Il Corriere dello Sport claims that Under’s sale would ‘heal’ the Giallorossi’s budget, and provide adequate funds to land a replacement.
