The National Organizer for the
National Democratic Congress NDC has disclosed that, the alleged ₵40
million transferred into the former Chief of Staff Sundry Account was part of
Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation’s BOST Corporate Social Responsibility to
the nation.
Mr. Kofi Adams in an interview
with Kwasi Aboagye on Neat FM said, the decision was taken by the board of BOST
at that time to support the Security Sector fuel vehicles for operational
purposes.
“we sat as a board to use the
money in collaboration with fuel distributors to supply fuel to the security
services’ vehicles to help them discharge their mandatory duties as part of our
corporate social responsibilities”
He said this in reaction to the
petition by a group calling itself Center for National Affairs to the Special
Prosecutor’s office to investigate the purpose for setting and channeling ₵40
million into the Sundry Account of former Chief of Staff Julius Debrah.
According to the group, the
former BOST managing director Kingsley Awuah-Darko transferred over ₵40
million into the then Chief of Staff’s Sundry Account which was under
investigation by EOCO in 2017
Mr. Kofi Adams, former board
member of BOST, said every process and details of the account was handed over
to the current regime but have failed to review the documentations.
Mr. Adams highlighted that,
“there was a report then on the challenges Security Services were facing in
fueling vehicles for patrol purposes on high roads and fighting crimes and so,
the reason for creating the account”
He urged the group to probe
into the evaporated 671,000 liters of fuel that recently occurred at BOST since
the government has not dealt with the issues as it is supposed to handled.
